The single marks the trilogy of collaboration between the two artists following “Need Your Love” (2012) and “Outside” (2014)

The golden age of electronic music (1995 – 2005) seems to have taken a small leap in time with “Miracle”: Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s trance emblem. Out now via Sony Music, the single promises to project the essence of the raves and festivals of 20 years ago to the younger generation.
“Miracle” is the first collaboration in nearly ten years between the Scottish producer and the British singer. It precedes 2012’s “Need Your Love” and 2014’s “Outside.” The support has been massive and has not gone unnoticed even by trance music legends like Paul Oakenfold who congratulated Harris after its release.
While the song’s style shocked the entire electronic scene, the collaboration had already been aired on February 12 when Calvin posted an image of himself and Ellie in a studio. The result: an anthem that takes us back to the 90s.
Behind the “Miracle” trance emblem
Between an ethereal piano that reminds us of Robert Miles’ ‘Children’ and instrumental synthesizer bases that recreates the first tracks of Tiësto, and a union of addictive basses with fast flashes, the track manages to make the skin crawl and makes tears fall for those who lived the golden age of trance music.
Caught between the 2013 EDM lyric and its contemporary perfection, Ellie’s voice becomes yet another instrument that turns the single into something more than special. “Can you forgive everything / Believe in a miracle / Yes, I put you through hell / But I ask you to believe / Believe in a miracle…” – whispers in our ear as our body ceases to belong to us.
With “Miracle” Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding close a trilogy of hits. After releasing “Funk Wav Bounces vol. II” last year, Harris will headline the 2023 edition of Coachella. Goulding, meanwhile, will release her fifth studio album “Higher Than Heaven” on April 7.
