King of progressive sound and artist behind HOLO releases his own version of the iconic track

In May, the world finally had a calm after Anyma dropped her iconic single “Consciousness” alongside Chris Avantgarde. The track is already one of the best releases of this year and even though it’s been several weeks since its release, it’s still making waves.

Hinted at in Tale of Us’ latest sets at Tomorrowland, We Are FSTVL or his outstanding residency at Hï Ibiza, the new and most awaited version of the single is here as Eric Prydz has just released his remix of “Consciousness” through Afterlife.

Behind “Consciousness” (Eric Prydz Remix)

At the end of June, Eric revealed via Twitter that he approached the Italian duo to present his proposal of the electronic anthem. On that same date, on SoundCloud, the remix appeared for the first time, although with a slightly different version than the one we know now. The first time Prydz played his own version was at the Mega Arena at Creamfields South in June.

Immersing ourselves in the sounds

Browsing through this remix, we find a dramatic and half-dark track of the progressive character that Eric has mastered for the last 20 years. Accompanied by clearly more elevated beats along with the original loops and immersive vocals featuring the prodigious phrase: “Consciousness, Feeling of Internal, External or Virtual Existence”.

Now, the Scotsman creates some dreamy drops where the essence of melodic techno and progressive come together to form intense melodies that transport you to another universe as if it were a wormhole. A true and perhaps unique connection between Pryda and Afterlife that will go down in the history of the electronic scene.

The reception has been overwhelming. From the Afterlife guys to the other side of the scene like Adam Beyer or Amelie Lens. Going through prestigious and independent media, this new release still has weeks to corrupt the top spots on Beatport and continue to be played around the world.

As usual, this is likely to be the only release from the Swede during 2022, or maybe more. Let’s remember that Pryda’s last release was ‘NOPUS’ in 2020. And while it always takes light years to hear a new song from the producer, the waiting time is really worth it as each and every one of them is a true gem. Enjoy the remix of “Consciousness” by Eric Prydz.
